The Norwegian Nobel Committee has awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 2019 to Abiy Ahmed, the admirer and political partner of the fascist Eritrean dictator, Issayas Afeworki.

Surprisingly – and as if to mock the very idea of peace – this so-called Peace Prize has gone to Abiy Ahmed, an unreliable aspirant dictator who is insensitive to, and dismissive of, the cause and aspirations of the Eritrean people.

Likewise, this awkward award is being bestowed before the occupying Ethiopian army has vacated Badme, which is Eritrean sovereign territory, before the international border between Eritrea and Ethiopia has been demarcated and at a time when the oppressed Eritrean people remain the tormented captives of Ahmed’s friend, Issayas Afeworki.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee has brought shame on itself!

  1. This so called peace agreement was done by two individuals without involving the concerned public both in Ethiopia and Eritrea. Its full content and implication is not yet well known let alone to be practical. If there were a peace deal why is the Algiers Agreement not yet practically implemented? Why is the border closed? Didn’t this same person indicate the existence of a problem to implement the so called peace agreement? Didn’t he mention that on the Eritrean side there still exist a stumbling block to implement the agreement? Didn’t the Tigrayan Administrator call on the cooperation of the Eritrean officials to open the border just a couple of days back? Where is that so called peace now?
