Let us be loyal to the Eritrean people and our martyrs and not to the deranged Eritrean dictator!

On November 23 2018, I posted on Facebook a piece bearing the title “Our closest brothers in Ethiopia are definitely our Tigrian neighbors, and not the Amhara, and our fate is directly connected with their fate”. In reaction, I received some unjust and unacceptable criticism from some unnameable regime supporters.

I now wish to enlighten those blind supporters of the deranged Eritrean dictator, who open their wide mouths without thinking to hurl unjust accusations and criticism that does not hold water against Eritrean patriots who are struggling for justice, democracy and human rights.

You must understand that Eritrean patriots are struggling against the Eritrean dictator, Issayas Afeworki, to save Eritrea and establish a sovereign state with clearly demarcated and internationally recognized borders with Ethiopia.

It’s also important not to forget the Eritrean people who have sacrificed more than 100,000 of their best patriotic sons and daughters to secure a politically independent and sovereign Eritrea.  It is therefore a great shame to remain obedient to a bloody dictator who has utter contempt for Eritrea and its people and who is determined to destroy them piece by piece. In other words, our loyalty should be to our martyred heroes and heroines and not to a fascist dictator.

Some of these narrow-minded regime supporters have said that I opposed the TPLF leadership in the past, but now, indirectly, I am supporting them. So they are asking why I do not continue opposing them, as I did in the past. What has changed? But what these regime supporters do not, and cannot, understand is the hard fact that, in politics, there are no permanent friends or enemies. For example, since his visit to Ethiopia, the Eritrea’s malicious dictator has aligned himself with the historical enemies of sovereign Eritrea and its people and is openly showing solidarity with the hostile forces inside Ethiopia that have ill designs against Eritrea.

As far as I am concerned, therefore, it would be politically suicidal and foolish to point my accusatory fingers at the TPLF leadership and to sing old songs at a time when a radical realignment of forces has taken place in the Horn of Africa intending to corner and destroy Eritrea.

In other words, I am no longer prepared to accuse the TPLF leaders of being responsible for all the ills of Eritrea, as the Eritrean dictator and his passive and inept supporters do. Besides, the TPLF has now reformed itself and has new leaders who understand the importance of having a very close relationship with Eritrea and its people.

I therefore also now see, under the changed political circumstances in the Horn of Africa, the historical necessity for Eritrea and its people to work closely with Tigrai and its brave and hard-working people.

So, as far as I am concerned, after all is said and done, the political ills of Eritrea are the direct result of the corrupt, misguided and arbitrary internal and foreign policies
pursued by the evil Eritrean dictator and his obedient close associates. These are policies designed to weaken, subvert and destroy Eritrea politically and economically from within with the ultimate political objective of subordinating Eritrea to the new Amhara-oriented Ethiopian government led by Abiy Ahmed.

Consequently, the time now demands that, in solidarity with other like-minded political forces in our region, the immediate political objective of the Eritrean people and their political activists should be to remove the Eritrean dictator from power and to establish a secular and democratic Eritrean state accountable to the Eritrean people.

Down with the Eritrean fascist dictator!
