The Conference on the Eritrea/Ethiopia Relationship is a Mockery of Justice and an Insult to Eritreans’ Intelligence!

The above picture shows an all Ethiopian participants in a  Conference supposedly meant to be on Eritrea/Ethiopia Present and Future Relationship.

On the 18th of November 2015 a one-day conference focusing on the present and future relationship between Eritrea and Ethiopia was held at the Marriott Hotel in Washington D.C. The conference was organized by Vision Ethiopia.

According to the organizers, the conference was successfully concluded.

First of all, however, it is actually a misnomer to call the one-day meeting a conference on the future Eritrea/Ethiopia relationship without the participation of Eritreans. For the major aim of the conference  was not to promote people-to-people relationships as such, but rather to meticulously build a solid relationship and trust between the Eritrean dictator and the various Eritrea-based Ethiopian opposition groups led by Dr. Birhanu Nega. Ironically, this has been done at the expense of the Eritrean people, at a time when they are struggling hard to end their suffering at the hands of the callous Eritrean dictator.

What’s more, to state, as the organizers of the conference did, that a discussion of the present and future relationship of Eritrea/Ethiopia could be successfully concluded without the active participation of Eritrean democrats and other political activists is, to say the least, a mockery of justice and an insult to the intelligence of Eritreans.

Mdre Bahre thus wonders what kind of democrats – if they can be referred to as democrats at all – the Ethiopian opposition groups based in Eritrea are, who work hand-in-glove with the monstrous dictator while the oppressed Eritrean people are engaged in a life-and-death struggle to settle their account with him once and for all.

History and the Eritrean people will be the judges tomorrow.
