It is very interesting to note that dictator Issayas Afeworki’s hatchet man, Naizghi Kiflu, the former Minister of Information, once proclaimed disgracefully that journalists were “a bunch of rodents” and supervised the round-ups of government opponents and pro-reform journalists in September 2001.
Ironically, the hatchet man himself met a worse fate than that of a rodent: after his death, his master refused his corpse entry to Eritrea and it was buried humiliatingly in a temporary grave in London.
Undoubtedly, such will also be the fate of all the rest of Afeworki’s hatchet men. Indeed, the way in which Naizghi Kiflu’s life ended is a clear warning to all the hatchet men and women still in the service of Eritrea’s fascist dictator.
