Some Background History
This is a very important historical drama based on the true story of Nguse Elfu. He was a leader of his community in the Akele-Guzai region of Eritrea before the coming of the Italian colonialists to Eritrea.
As a community leader, Nguse Elfu was a very controversial person among his community in the sense that he was adorned and admired by some of the men and women of his time and hated, ferociously opposed and repulsed by the majority of the community he administered. In the same way, Issayas Afeworki, the PFDJ fascist dictator presently ruling Eritrea, is loved by his tiny number of followers and hated and condemned by the majority of the Eritrean people.
To cut a long story short, the community over whom Nguse Elfu dictated eventually grew fed up with his rule and officially demanded that he step down and hand power back to the community.
However, die-hard and intransigent as he was, just as Issayas Afeworki is today, Elfu contemptuously rejected the demands of his community that he step down. Consequently, the elders who were bitter about his dictatorial rule said that enough was enough and decided to remove him from power by force. Indeed, Elfu was eventually removed from office by force through being shot and killed.
Throughout history, this is how the lives of most brutal dictators have ended. And, as far as Mdrebahri is concerned, this is also how the life of the Eritrean fascist, Issayas Afeworki, will end as well.
