After all is said and done, if one reads between the lines, the principal message Weldenkiel Abraha conveyed to the Eritrean people implies that the Eritrean Tyrant is indeed mentally incapacitated or dead and that the mistakes of the past must be corrected, reconcile ourselves, and march forward consciously with a new spirit and optimism to develop our country.
However, one of the most important and urgent item missing from the Weldenkiel Abraha’s message is the question of the unjustly interned Eritrean political prisoners – those who are acutely suffering in the dark underground PFDJ dungeons.
Mdre Bahri strongly believes that the hallmarks and first act of a promising caretaker government in Eritrea should be the releasing of all Eritrean political prisoners immediately and unconditionally. For the political leadership of a country which imprisons the best sons and daughters of the Eritrean people without a court order can never be trusted to be on the side of the Eritrean people. Eritrea must cease immediately to be an open prison for its population.
In any case, let us see how the unfolding situation develops.
